In December of 2017 our comrade (and retired past President) Denver “Denny” Johnson celebrated 50 years of marriage to his beautiful bride Virginia. I was fortunate enough to be on hand for one of the celebrations and witness the wonderful family the Johnsons have built. The kids, the grandkids, the friends and the extended family all bore testament to the marriage these two folks hold high; not just in terms of years but the depth and breadth of their love and respect for each other is apparent. Denny has stood as an example for us how to conduct our lives and affairs for decades; their marriage a standard we should all be so blessed to pursue. Of course they both have a great sense of humor (you sort of have to with Denny), they both quipped they aren’t so sure they are up another 50 years! We are fairly certain Virginia’s name has to be good in heaven on account of her willingness to put up with Denny all these years…Congratulations Denny and Virginia!
